I dare you Dad.

You might hear that from the kids more than once when you stay at Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo.

I was taunted more than once to try a boogie board or a waterslide.

If you are looking for a romantic and fun getaway with the family then here is the vacation for the whole tribe.   The busier the kiddies are, the more fun for Mom and Dad, right?

This spectacular colonial style resort is magic for kids. The Bahia Scouts Water Park and Kids’ Club provide hours of excitement and fun for the children.

What can parents do while the kids are occupied?

bahia-experts-travel-runawaybay200A romantic swim with colorful cocktails, reconnecting with a couples massage at the spa or maybe embrace the alone time in an outdoor Jacuzzi on the beach are just a few ideas.   The kids will be busy all day.

At Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo the kids can enjoy eco-adventures, mini-Olympics and activities under the sun on the sugar beach. The little ones can rip it up on the dance floor at their very own mini-disco.

After dark babysitting service is available for a reasonable fee.   That means peace of mind while the folks are having a very good time. It’s easy to let time wash over you here.

One couple at the buffet told us they were just holding hands and walking down the beach. They lost track of time and realized they had walked to the adorable city of Las Terrenas in just about an hour.

They had a light lunch in Las Terrenas and then rented a scooter to explore nearby El Limon and Samana.   They traveled back to the resort by taxi and got a lift in a resort golf cart back to their suite.

The staff is very friendly and efficient. The suites are cleaned and the mini-bar has new provisions each day. The grounds are immaculate. The beaches are spotless.

I was surprised to discover that kids really like El Pescador. I enjoy the fish and seafood stew that is served in a clay pot over a bed of potatoes. I saw a lot of kids digging into shrimp dishes and the other popular choice was crepes with caramelized condensed milk.

How much time do we really have with our kids? Live your life out loud at Grand Bahia Principe El Portillo. Splash in the water, dance with your daughter and laugh out loud together.

I dare you.
