I did not meet Jimmy Buffett.

But he would have been welcome to hang out with me at Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica.

Fortunately I had enough fun for both of us.

This stunning Victorian style resort is smack dab on the beach on one of the most fabled islands in the Caribbean.   You’re in Jamaica mon.

Nearly every suite has an awesome ocean view. All 3 pools are like small lakes and even better they are all linked together.

All of the 850 rooms are Junior Suites with hydro massage tubs, separate showers and canopy beds. Guests have a choice of 2 full size beds or one king size bed.

The rooms come with all the expected perks including 24-hour room service. The balcony or terrace at each room has furniture. This is a great spot to toast the sunrise and sunset.

There are traditional meals and lots of fancy food at the restaurants at Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica.

International dishes are the star of the show at Orquidea. This buffet is a taste extravaganza.   The menu is varied and features lots of fresh vegetables grown on the island.

Gourmet delights are offered at the singular Don Pablo restaurant. Pasta lovers will appreciate the flair at Dolce Vita.   The Japanese cuisine at Mikado is incomparable.

I like anything grilled.

jamaica-foodGarden Grill Steak House is my favorite place to get intimate with cold and hot Tex-Mex plates.   I heartily recommend the spicy quail with wild rice!

The beach bar is the best place to grab a Pina Colada or Strawberry Daiquiri while you swim at the beach. Swim up to the Hybyscus bar to have a signature rum drink in or out of the water. Your choice!

Make sure you check out the nightlife for music, shows and fun.   Visit the Pueblo Principe for shopping, gift gathering and the Ska disco.

The staff makes every guest feel completely special at Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica. I always have a blast here and it’s true I did not meet Jimmy Buffett.

But I did stop the grill and can honestly say that I had a “Cheeseburger in Paradise”.
